This will give us the time to make the most of this important opportunity. Meanwhile, our committees and stakeholders will continue to implement the Queensland First Nations Tourism Plan and all that comes with it. We are very proud of the work that has been achieved over the last ten years and look forward to working with all of you on this important initiative.
We thank all our stakeholders, Indigenous tourism operators, the members of our Champions Network, our ‘Bunji’ sponsors and the Queensland Government for the continued support and commitment to make tourism in Queensland a leader in achieving positive outcomes from Indigenous tourism.
Nunya! or for those of you who don’t speak the local language (Nunukul and Yuggera): Thank you!
The announcement was made in our NAIDOC webinar which also included inspiring and powerful messages from international and local First Nations leaders. Special guests were Keith Henry, Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, Dale Stephens, NZ Maori Tourism and Suzanne Thompson from YACHATDAC.
Speakers discussed this years' theme 'Always was, Always will be' as well as First Nations culture, the impact of COVID-19 and their journey into the future.
