    1. 2019 Prize for Innovation Winners!

      Today marks World Tourism Day and what better way to celebrate than to host a networking event and award the winners of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s (QTC) Prize for Innovation in Tourism. The QTIC Prize for Innovation in Tourism recognises micro and small to medium-sized tourism businesses in Queensland who have introduced an innovative product, service or process.

    2. Destination IQ Announces the Release of the First Nations Potentials Plan in November

      An exciting announcement as the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) has confirmed they will be releasing the draft of the First Nations Potentials Plan at the Destination IQ event on November 6.

      Destination IQ brings together tourism operators, leaders, native title holders, community organisations and government representatives to discuss the strategies for supporting the growth of Indigenous tourism in Queensland.

    3. Destination IQ Supporting Trees for Tourism

      The Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s (QTIC) ‘Destination IQ’ event has taken on a new initiative this year with the aim to improve the tourism industry’s environmental and sustainable outcomes.

      Working with Tourism Noosa and Noosa and District Landcare, QTIC has adopted ‘Trees for Tourism’. The initiative plants shade trees for walkers on the Noosa trail network and assists with erosion and improving the habitat for local wildlife species, including koalas.

    4. Tickets on Sale for Queensland Tourism Awards!

      The annual Queensland Tourism Awards (QTA) is only seven weeks away and tickets are on sale now! Last year tickets sold out in record time so be sure to get in early to secure your spot. Tickets can be purchased on the QTIC website here: https://www.qtic.com.au/industry-development/qta/

      This year the event will be held Friday 8 November at the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre, Novotel Twin Waters, Sunshine Coast.

    5. Indigenous Artwork Unveiled to Represent First Nations Tourism Journey

      Exciting news as the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) today officially unveiled the Indigenous artwork to represent the journey of the 10-year journey of the Champions Network.

      David Hudson, a proud Ewamian/Western Yalanji man from east cost of Far North Queensland, was commissioned to do the artwork with the purpose of telling the story of the journey of the Champions Network to create an Indigenous Tourism Strategy that can guide future development and growth of Indigenous tourism across Queensland.

    6. Celebrating QLD’s Most Innovative Tourism Businesses

      Tickets are now on sale for the Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s (QTIC) Prize for Innovation event to be held on World Tourism Day on Friday 27 September, at Calile Hotel, Brisbane.

      The event recognizes tourism businesses in Queensland who have introduced an innovative product, service or process. The awards have been running since 2013 and this year has again seen a great lineup of contenders.
